I received official word this morning that I was not chosen for the position at BIS. The message from the principal was very nice (I barely missed her phone call). She said that they had a really hard decision, and that I was a very close second to the candidate that they hired. She went on to say that she wishes she had two positions open so she could have hired us both, and she called the HS principal and sent my resume and information over there just in case they have something come available. She continued to say that she believes that I have a lot to offer a school district, and she hopes I am able to find something.
I am actually feeling okay with this right now. The right job will come along. It has to! And, I guess, if nothing does, I will be able to sub again. Who knows! I have faith that what is good and right for our family will be what happens. Until then, I have jobs to search for today!

Jen's Job Prospects
Well, there are a few things happening on the job front for me right now. I have an interview with Boyd ISD tomorrow at 2pm. Boyd is a tiny school district, and the job is at the Intermediate School which is fourth, fifth and sixth grade. Obviously this is very much out of my comfort zone.
There is a job opening at Saginaw High School for an English teacher that I want very much. I even went into the school and spoke with one of the AP's about the position. I am just hoping for a phone call to interview for this one. It would be IDEAL, and I very much want it. Close to home. High school. I subbed there a lot last year, so I am familiar with the school and some of the kids. I just want it.
I am not going to turn down a teaching job. That would be crazy, but I think my hopes are high for the high school job. I just need to be working.

Busy Sadler Life!
Well, things have been SUPER busy around the Sadler home. I went to Girl's Camp with the young women from our ward, so that occupied a lot of time for a few weeks. We went for four days, but I didn't make it the entire time. I got sick enough that I had to come home on Friday morning and make a trip to the doctor. I was really sad to leave the girls, especially on Friday because Friday night is always the best, most spiritual night at camp. It is the night that the girls have the opportunity to share their testimonies with one another, and the Spirit is always so strong. I know that having to leave was the best thing for me, and as hard as it is, I have to learn to take better care of me--as Nick reminds me all the time.
Right now, we are living with HEAT! The heat outside has been unbearable, at 100 degrees or more everyday. But, a few days ago our AC went out. We finally caved last night and bought a window unit for our bedroom. It was either that or find a hotel! The window unit is GREAT! Our room is a cool haven while the rest of the house is holding steady at 80+ degrees. It could be worse, I know, but three days of this has been ridiculous! The AC guys should be here today though, so hopefully, we will have a whole house again soon.
I had a job interview for an AVID position at Boswell High School. And I haven't heard a thing since then. I called and tried to get ahold of the person I interviewed with, but she hasn't done the courtesy of calling me back even to tell me that they hired someone else. I am more upset about that then not getting the job because I just feel like that is SO unprofessional! Anyway, onward we go with the job search! Praying for one everyday!
We are still trying to figure out when and if we are going to be able to make a CO/WY trip the end of July. We have come up against a few snags in the plan, but we are really working on making it work. I am homesick, and we both really want to make it to Casper. I have only been there once, and there are so many people and places to see!
I hope that this post finds all our friends and family healthy and happy! We love and miss you all!

Book #20
Naughty Neighbor
By: Janet Evanovich
Well, it finally happened. I found a book by Janet Evanovich that I don't like. I know! I didn't think it was possible either. However, this tiny, tid-bit of a story is really not up to her usual par. Ii always find Evanovich's stories entertaining, humorous and thrilling. This story didn't even have the potential to be any of those things. The characters, Louisa and Pete, are pretty tame in comparison. They manage to get themselves tangled up in a pig scandal that turns out to be insurance fraud in Washington D.C. The senator involved is not all that threatening, and the other supporting characters leave something to be desired. I feel as if this was a story, written in a day, and turned in to make a deadline. Honestly, it feels as if one of my students has just turned in a paper they wrote in an hour when they had a week to work on it. It is short, but it would be a waste of time to read. Go for one of her other works! This one isn't so great.

So busy with not much to say!
So, I haven't posted for a few days, which is not normal. The other not normal circumstance is that we have been SO VERY busy, and yet, I don't have much to post about. Here are a few tidbits though.
Mahan Family Biggest Loser Competition
I had a dream about The Biggest Loser, the show, and thought it would be fun to have a competition that would allow my family to participate in our own competition through the summer. This is Week 1. I will post a little blurb about the winner each week as the competition progresses. GOOD LUCK ALL!
Summer Plans
We are working on when our vacation will be. Sometime in July is what we know for sure. We just aren't sure WHEN exactly in July. It looks like we will be driving, so look for a tired Nick and Jen to be rolling into Denver, Casper, and Montrose in July.
See...I told you I didn't have much to post about. I need some food and a nap right now! Happy summer!
